At our practice, we understand that there are many reasons you might need to transfer your orthodontic care, whether it’s due to a move or a change in treatment philosophy. We welcome transfer patients and are here to make the process as smooth and easy as possible.

To ensure we provide you with the best care moving forward, we charge a $150 exam fee for patients who are already in active treatment. This fee is fully applied toward your treatment costs should you choose to transfer your care to us. During the initial visit, we conduct a comprehensive exam and take the necessary records to understand the current state of your treatment. We will also discuss how much longer we estimate your treatment will take and the recommended plan moving forward.

We also make it a priority to contact your previous orthodontist to obtain all necessary records, including details about the brackets used, initial treatment plan, and what has been completed thus far. In most cases, we can continue using your existing brackets, though occasionally, a change may be needed. We will ask your previous provider to fill out a transfer form. If you know you are transferring, having this form completed ahead of your exam allows you to potentially continue treatment same day or soon thereafter. Our team is committed to treating you to the highest level of care, thus communicating with your previous provider is part of our commitment to being comprehensive. Please note that we accept transfer patients who have good oral hygiene and are up to date with any financial obligations to their previous provider.
